And so, as if shot out of a cannon, the NHL playoffs are upon us. I tried putting this post together in between periods of the Hawks-Yotes matchup last night, but couldn’t find the strength or willpower to do anything other than worry and listen to the Misfits. Last night saw three games, all of which made it to overtime where familiar and unfamiliar names alike made all the difference (Jesus Havlat Christ was, as we’ve come to expect from him in overtime playoff games, brought redemption to himself and his limpid Sharks).

With the playoffs come high hopes, expectations, let downs and all of the emotions we neglect in our day-to-day lives. You’re going to need a strong beer to deal with the stresses of playoff hockey. Grab a Pepe Nero from Goose Island and let’s get to Suds.
-Northern Brewer opening its Minneapolis store this weekend. Make a beer for me, will ya?
-More on Lagunitas from our friends at Chi Town on Tap.
-Steel Toe chooses Friday the Thirteenth to release a beer. Coincidence?
-Hey guys, really, it’s about enjoying beer.
-Why is the Trib publishing stories about beers that aren’t from Chicago? There’s more than enough to cover back home!
-Get ready for Revolution Brewing to hit a store near you…this is so flippin’ exciting.
-Beer Here: Zippity De Dieu from the Grumpy Troll.
-Craft beer party in Indiana. Sounds good to me.
-Finally, space photos!
