Suds: December 8

‘Tis the season, my friends, Charlie Brown Christmas was on last night and reminded me why I love being from the Midwest.  Charles Schulz was truly a genius.  But now for some suds talk.

For those of you looking for a little mental stimulus package, crack open a Surly Furious and take a closer look at the human condition, and let it brew.

First off, for those of you brave souls sticking out the winter in Minnesota, here’s a few ways to get your winter beer blanket.

-Come taste some amazing craft brews, you know the good stuff, at Heritage Liquor’s Beer Geek Christmas

-Stumbled upon this quirky gem today.  They are having some great events soon, but it’s also just a fun time visiting their site.

Now for you Wisconsinites:

-What’s better than Free Beer?

-Anyone who fancies himself, or herself, a beer and chocolate connoisseur or really anyone who thinks beer and chocolate are just swell, needs to make this event.

More Great Beer News:

-I heard the secret to Great Lakes Brewing Co. beers is that they take equal parts water from Huron, Superior, Ontario, and Michigan.  Erie tastes funny.

-For those of you that are still reeling from that dismal Wolverines season, the Michigan Brewers Guild got the medicine you need—an old fashioned Winter Beer Fest

-Test your palate against Wine Magazine’s Top 25 Beers of 2010.

-My goal in life?  Make a beer that is lost in a shipwreck for years only to become the world’s oldest beer

Well, that’s it for this addition of Suds.  I’ll leave you all with a little treat from a talented native of the Windy City, Andrew Bird.
